Pulpectomy is commonly associated with treating infected or abscessed teeth, especially in cases of severe pain or swelling. A pulpotomy is a partial removal of the pulp tissue, typically performed on primary (baby) teeth or permanent teeth with immature roots. It is done when the pulp is infected or inflamed but the infection or inflammation has not yet spread to the tooth's roots.
