At Elysian skin clinic, there are several treatments available for acne. These may include topical medications, such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, which are applied directly to the affected areas. Oral medications, such as antibiotics, may also be prescribed to help clear up acne. In some cases, a skin clinic may also offer procedures such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and light therapy to help treat acne.
Acne can be classified into several different types based on the severity and specific symptoms that are present. These types include:
  • Mild Acne: This type of acne is characterized by the presence of whiteheads and blackheads and may also include small, red bumps on the skin.
  • Moderate acne: This type of acne is more severe than mild acne and may include a larger number of white and blackheads and more inflamed pimples.
  • Severe acne: This is the most severe type of acne and can include a large number of pimples, as well as nodules and cysts. Severe acne can be painful and can cause scarring.
  • Acne vulgaris: This is considered the most common type of acne and can be mild, moderate, or severe. The presence of blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples typically characterizes it.
  • Acne rosacea: This is a chronic skin condition that causes swelling and redness on the face, which can also cause acne-like symptoms.
  • Acne conglobata: This is a rare and severe form of acne characterized by large, interconnected nodules and cysts. This type of acne is more common in men as compared to women.
